Power Electronics Delivers High-Power EV Bus Charging Infrastructure for LA Metro with Camber

Power Electronics, a global provider of high-power EV charging and energy solutions, is partnering with Camber Operating Company, Inc. to support the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (LA Metro) transition to a zero-emission bus fleet. As part of Camber Operating Company’s deployment for LA Metro, Power Electronics will supply its NBi 360 power cabinets to support on-route opportunity charging across the transit network, providing the high-power backbone required to enable up to 360 kW charging performance and support reliable, scalable fleet electrification at layover and terminal locations.

The initiative supports LA Metro’s accelerated electrification timeline as the region prepares to welcome the world for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games—raising the bar for reliable, high-availability EV charging infrastructure at scale.

“Power Electronics is a key technology partner in helping us deliver on LA Metro’s performance requirements,” said Brendan Harney, President of Camber Operating Company. “Together, we’re deploying proven on-route charging systems designed for the uptime, responsiveness, and scalability transit agencies depend on.”

Power Electronics + Camber: On-Route Charging Built for Transit

The NBi 360 is a high‑power, smart EV charging cabinet that enables fast, flexible, and scalable opportunities for electric bus fleets—intelligently delivering energy where and when it’s needed most.

As part of Camber’s deployment for LA Metro, Power Electronics will supply NBi 360 power cabinets to deliver up to 360 kW of DC fast charging power for on-route opportunity charging. The cabinets will be integrated with inverted pantographs to enable rapid connection and ultra-fast energy transfer to electric buses at layover and terminal locations. Optional plug-in charging dispensers will be available at select sites based on operational needs.
