Power Electronics and the University of Valencia join forces to boost renewable energy talent through a new Chair

Power Electronics reinforces its commitment to training and developing young talent through the creation of the Power Electronics-UV Chair. This project, the result of an agreement signed last December, seeks to strengthen the relationship between both entities to promote knowledge transfer to new generations in the field of sustainability and electronics.

Objectives of the Power Electronics-UV Chair

The Power Electronics-UV Chair focuses on several key objectives. Firstly, it seeks to maximize knowledge transfer through continuing education. The company currently offers the MPOWER master's degree (Master's Degree in Energy Transformation Power Electronics), a permanent training prgram from the University of Valencia. Additionally, it is involved in co-directing and teaching classes for the MBATT (Master of Continuing Education in Battery Technology) program at the University.

Secondly, the Chair aims to promote technical careers by organizing outreach events and encouraging scientific and technical meetings. Furthermore, it fosters young talent through initiatives such as awards for Final Degree Projects and Final Master's Projects.

Creation of a Joint Commission

As a starting point for the development of the activities of the Chair, a Joint Commission was recently established to oversee and make decisions regarding the initiatives carried out under the Chair. This commission includes representatives from both Power Electronics and the University of Valencia. Representing Power Electronics are Rubén Cortés, Director of the Corporate University, and Consuelo Gómez-Zarzuela, Head of University Relations. Representing the University of Valencia are Rosa Donat, Vice-Rector for Knowledge Transfer and Innovation, and José Torres, Director of the Power Electronics-UV Chair.

University-Society Collaboration Award

In the recent XXVIII edition of the University-Society Awards of the Social Council of the University of Valencia, we received the University-Society Collaboration Award. Recognition that highlights the joint effort between Power Electronics and the university to promote knowledge transfer, promote innovation and support the training of young talent in the field of energy, technology and power electronics. With this award, we highlight the positive impact of our collaboration in the creation of an academic and professional environment.

Through this new Chair, Power Electronics reaffirms its commitment to providing quality training and promoting young talent in the field of electronics, which is crucial for technological development and innovation.
