The HEM medium-voltage inverter from Power Electronics is designed for large-scale solar applications that require the advantages of a central inverter combined with the modular design of string architecture. The medium-voltage equipment is likewise integrated into the package.

Maximum integration.

The Freesun HEM unit is the only solar inverter on the market to integrate the transformer and medium-voltage cells into the same set of equipment. Its use in utility-scale plants delivers considerable savings in terms of CAPEX, while greatly simplifying design and installation.

Field Replaceable Units

The Freesun HEM device consists of six FRUs (Field Replaceable Units) designed, as the name implies, for easy replacement in situ. These are connected to each other in such way that if there is a breakdown, the faulty module shuts down and its energy is evenly distributed among the still-active FRUs.

iCOOL 3 is a ventilation system designed to supply a constant flow of clean air to the inside of the equipment without any need for dust filters or liquid cooling.

Multilevel Topology

Multilevel topology is the most efficient way of addressing the management of high DC voltages. This three-level configuration reduces losses at the power stage, increases efficiency and minimizes overall harmonic distortion.

Econ Mode

This innovative control mode allows you to reduce medium-voltage transformer loss by up to 25%, and also to cut the plant’s power consumption.

Maximum Durability

The Freesun HEM unit comes with a high level of protection against external agents such as rain, snow and ice. It is fitted with insulating panels designed to shield it from solar radiation and a casing that provides C4 corrosion protection by default.

Active Heating

During the night, when the inverter does not actively export power, it can import a small amount of energy to prevent internal condensation – without any use of heating elements.

Turnkey Units

The Freesun HEM if fitted with all the medium-voltage elements. This compact solution simplifies the task of designing the installation, while also reducing connection costs. Its front access also makes it easier to maintain.

Bus Plus

The Freesun HEM device allows the connection of up to six Freemaq DC/DC units.

Robust Design.

Freesun HEM inverter modules offer a useful service life of more than 30 years’ operation in aggressive environments and under extreme weather conditions. They are tested and configured to withstand anything from the sub-zero temperatures of the Siberian tundra to the searing heat of California’s Death Valley.

Freesun App

Our app allows you to monitor the status of your inverters. If you are a technical support specialist or customer, you can download the app and start monitoring your Power Electronics equipment remotely.

Energy generation and self-consumption grow stronger in agriculture

30 August, 2019

At the beginning of 2017, the irrigation sector had already been making photovoltaic installations for direct supply of private pumps, mostly isolated, to replace or complement the use of generator sets for several years. At that time, Power Electronics  SD700SP drive was already the most installed. With the implementation of this solar pumping system it was possible to reduce operating costs and increase energy efficiency.
