POWER ELECTRONICS WILL SUPPLY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN JAPAN THEIR 1500V SOLAR INVERTER.
Power Electronics has received their first order for a 1500V plant in Japan. This is the floating photovoltaic plant Tano-ike (2.552MW) located in Tsu, in the Mie prefecture of Japan. The company closes with this order a total of more than 2GW worldwide with its new generation of inverters for 1500V plants.
The project has been developed by Ciel & Terre, one of the biggest global developers of floating photovoltaic plants. This technology provides great benefits for Japan, on one hand due to scarcity of available land, and on the other the great number of agricultural irrigation lakes available whose water surface can be leased for floating solar plants whilst also providing additional revenue to farmers. In addition, the cooling effect of the water on the panels enhances electricity production and also no grounding work is required.
Until this date, Power Electronics Japan have completed the commissioning of 16 solar plants. 10 of which have been carried out in the first 8 months of the present year. This milestone is a clear indicator of the growth that the Power Electronics delegation in Japan has experienced, which is the reason why a new office has opened that will permit a greater coverage and support to each customer, following the Power on Support philosophy, 24/7 on site service, throughout the world.
