A light and flexible utility-scale medium voltage solar inverter solution
Freesun HET is the new Power Electronics Medium Voltage central solar inverter solution, ready to be easily transported as a standard load in marine vessels or platforms in road transports and installed in any utility-scale solar park worldwide.
It is a standard solution suitable for any market, which requires low installation costs and an almost inexistent maintenance throughout the whole service life of the solar inverter.
All the features, which make our HE FREESUN series a unique solar inverter, are to be found in a 40” High Cube container enclosure (12.032mm W x 2.352 mm D x 2.698 mm H). It is a very light and flexible solution as slightly reduces the total weight whilst offers much more room for tailor-made solutions. Besides the solar inverter, a dry transformer (especially suitable for PV solar applications) and medium voltage cells, the room inside the container can be customized with whatever protection cabinets (General AC on-load disconnector and fuses, DC General fuses…). Furthermore the 12 meters enclosure allows the integration of solar inverters up to 1.6MW in a single power station.
VERY LOW MAINTENANCE
This new enclosure has been designed under the strictest mechanical, electrical and seismic standards and has also been tested again vibrations and shocks cause during the sea transport. The enclosure is thermally isolated from external environmental conditions by a sandwich panel of 5cm. HET FREESUN also minimizes the maintenance costs. The enclosure is treated with a special painting very effective against humidity and corrosion. The paint is guaranteed for a time frame of 10 years and the iron structure for a time period of 20 years with no additional maintenance.
Furthermore this solution keeps a turnkey philosophy, a plug-in solution. The installation on site is really easy and only a flat concrete floor to keep the container stable and allow the cable connections is needed. The EPC only needs to care about unloading and plug-in, that’s it.
The efficient cooling system enables the solar inverter to operate without any derating up to 50ºC due to its oversized IGBT’S and its mechanical design. Moreover, both the air intake and outtake are placed at the back side of the solar inverter and this, in turn, is placed against the left side of the container. Therefore, the hot airflow coming from the solar inverter never gets into the room but is directly expelled through the outside. This in and out air circulation facilitates that the inside room keeps cooler, as the temperature increase inside due to the normal operation of the solar inverter becomes a residual value compared to the solar irradiation. Heating resistors are an option in case of humid weather conditions.
HET FREESUN is really easy to transport. The 40”High Cube container is supplied with a CSC Safety Approval (Container Safety Convention), a seaworthiness certificate with enables the container to be handed over to any shipping company as a sea standard load. The seafreights are standard but also the handling at seaports and inland transport until the PV plant, which results in a dramatic drop of the transport costs of a turnkey solution as Freesun HET solar inverter is.
